Fine grained permissions
EQRT exposes a fine-grained permission system that allows you to control who can do what in your guild.
There are currently 5 types of roles each with a READ vs WRITE variant.
Required roles
Some roles are required to interact with the website and all members start with them. They are: READ-DKP, READ-CHARACTER, WRITE-CHARACTER, READ-EVENT, READ-GENERAL, WRITE-GENERAL
If you remove these roles from a user, they will not be able to interact with the website in the way you might expect.
Role list
Below you can find a list of roles and brief descriptions of what they allow.
Role | Description |
---|---|
Admin | Can edit permissions and see all menus / hidden forms / do anything most other roles can do |
Raid leader | Can create splits |
Event | Allows users to interact with events |
Character | allows users to interact with characters |
DKP | Allows users to view or create DKP entries |
General | System perms related to authentication / anon vs logged in users |
At the moment roles are NOT hierarchical. This means that if you give someone the Admin role, they will not automatically get the Raid Leader role. You must assign each role individually.
How to assign roles
To assign a role first you must be an Admin with read / write permissions ( the person who created the guild is automatically an admin ).
- Navigate from the sidebar to Settings.
- Open the Permissions tab.
- Use the paginated list view to find the user you want to assign a role to.
- Open the multiselect box and select the role(s) you want to assign.
- Once the roles are changed you will see a "sync" button next to their name. Click this and you are done.
